International 2 Sides Short Film Festival
International 2 Sides Short Film Festival / Izmir, Turkey
Based in Izmir/Turkey, International 2 Sides Short Film Festival is an independent initiative which aims to bring 2 sides together in every sense. The festival focuses on the experiences of all identities, their ways of living, their races, ethnicities, beliefs and gender while presenting unique short films from different cultures and categories in its selections.
It creates space for unique productions that focus on diversity, directorial debuts, LGBTQI+ productions, films directed by women and new generation experimental works, and develops new ways of collective viewing by organizing boutique film screenings and festival events at alternative venues. In order to achieve its goal of becoming an accessible event for disabled communities, the festival collaborates with Erişilebilir Her Şey (Accessible Everything), an organization providing knowledge and services on accessibility practices.
The festival collaborates with a film/art initiative from a different part of the world every year to create opportunities for collective thinking, research and creation in the field of short film. Festival’s previous special guests are Balkan Can Kino from Athens and bi’bakino from Berlin, and for its 3rd edition in 2021, 2SSFF is partnering with Rotterdam based Galerie de Jaloezie!
